How it Works

Let’s turn your beloved pet into a little work of art

Every pet has their own personality, quirks and little ways of making us smile. My aim is to capture a little of what makes your furry (or feathered!) friend so special in a personalised piece of art.
Whether you’re looking for a special keepsake for yourself or a thoughtful gift for someone who adores their pet, commissioning a portrait is easy and personal.

Here’s how it works:

From your photo to a portrait you’ll treasure

Tell me about your pet

Every portrait starts with a photo and a little story.
Get in touch and share a favourite photo of your pet. Tell me their name, a little about their personality, and anything you’d particularly love me to capture.
Not sure which photo to choose? Don’t worry — I can help you find one that will work well for your portrait.

I create your portrait

Once we’ve agreed on the details, I’ll get to work creating your personalised artwork. I draw the portrait myself, digitally, one brushstroke at a time. I work carefully from your photo, paying attention to the features, markings and expression that make your pet recognisably them.

No generative AI. No automatic filters. No one-click transformation. Just my own artwork, created especially for you.

Your portrait comes to life

When your portrait is complete, I’ll share the finished artwork with you. You can then choose how you’d like to enjoy it — whether that’s having it printed and framed, turning it into a special gift, or simply keeping it as a beautiful digital keepsake. If any agreed adjustments are needed, we’ll take care of those before final delivery.

Your artwork, ready to become something special

Your finished artwork is ready to enjoy, display or give to someone special. Whether it’s a little reminder of a much-loved companion or a gift that makes a fellow animal lover smile, I hope it brings you joy for years to come.

Your pet portrait is supplied as a high-resolution digital file, giving you the freedom to choose how you’d like to enjoy it. If you’d rather have something ready to hang on your wall, I’m also exploring a framed portrait option.

Created by me, not AI

Your pet’s portrait is created entirely by hand.
I don’t use generative AI to create, trace or finish my portraits. I draw every part of the artwork myself, digitally, using a drawing program and a stylus. Every brushstroke, detail and finishing touch comes from me.
That means your portrait isn’t an AI-generated image based on your pet’s photo. It’s an original piece of artwork, created specifically for you and your companion.

Real pet. Real artist. Real brushstrokes.

Some things to consider

The price of the artwork will depend on the size, as obviously the larger the image, the more time and work is involved in the creation;

The larger the image, the higher the resolution, which means more details and more hours of work;

Each portrait is made with care, so the time needed to finish can vary depending on the design and my current workload. I’ll let you know the estimated turnaround time before we get started;

I will need a clear, well-lit photo where your pet’s face and distinctive features are visible is ideal. Natural light and a photo taken at eye level often work beautifully. If you’re unsure, feel free to send a couple of options;

Your portrait will be delivered in the format agreed when you place your order. If ordering a digital file, you will also receive a file with transparent background (PNG), to use in a background of your choosing;

You will receive a digital piece of artwork. How and where you make a print is entirely up to you. You can use the digital drawing to print on paper, canvas or vinyl, the choice is entirely up to you. I advise you to use a good and reliable printing & framing service to get the best results*.
*For the best printing results, do not print larger than the purchased print size as this will result in loss of quality.

For special requests, non-standard sizes, multiple images or if you’d like me to arrange printing for you, contact me for specifics.

An image with transparent background is included so you can paste it on a background of your choice later.

Image Guidelines

To make a great piece of artwork I need a great photo. The better the photo, the better the artwork.
Before I take on the assignment I will decide whether the uploaded images are suitable. I will contact you if the photo is not good enough for a high quality artwork. If you are unsure, send in the photo for a check.

Make sure

Your photo is of high digital quality (minimum 2000 x 2000 px for a 10×10 artwork);

Your photo has good lighting and contrast. Make sure the eyes are clearly visible. A clear picture with clear eyes, make the artwork come to life;

The entire head and part of the body are clearly visible. You do not have to worry about the background of your photo.
